Fourth R Aboriginal Perspective Curriculum and Peer Mentor Manual

Developed by the Thames Valley District School Board, the Fourth R Aboriginal Perspective Curriculum addresses a variety of cultural issues identified by First Nations counsellors and students. The program emphasizes non-violent solutions to conflict and includes two videos demonstrating healthy relationship skills.

The Peer Mentor Manual outlines a mentor's role, focussing on successful communication skills, traditional teachings, mentoring activities and guidelines.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Retreat Manual - Increasing personal safety of all women and girls, including those who are Aboriginal
Developed by the Amelia Rising Sexual Assault Centre of Nipissing, the R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Retreat Manual is intended for retreat leaders and focuses on increasing personal safety for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal women. The project aimed to strengthen and expand support networks in rural and remote communities in the district of Nipissing.

Keeping the Fire Information Kit
Developed by Atlohsa Native Family Healing Services, the Keeping the Fire information kitincludes traditional stories from First Nation communities, as well as research and information on services dealing with violence against women. In developing the kit, the organization encouraged a community-based response to domestic violence in Aboriginal communities.

Aboriginal Domestic Violence Awareness Campaign
The Biminaawzogin Regional Aboriginal Women's Circle worked with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal agencies, as well as individual Aboriginal women, to create a multi-disciplinary crisis response care team. The team supports female Aboriginal victims of violence in Simcoe County and York Region. They also created an Aboriginal Domestic Violence Awareness Campaign that includes promotional cards and posters to raise the profile of this important issue.

Aboriginal Victims of Crime Awareness Project
Created by the Odawa Native Friendship Centre, the Aboriginal Victims of Crime Awareness Project raises awareness of the unique needs of Aboriginal victims of crime, with an emphasis on victims' services. It includes a literature review, legal resource and information booklet.

Program Model for Abused Aboriginal Women
Developed by Whitepath Consulting and Counselling Services, the Program Model for Abused Aboriginal Women helps build social and emotional skills and incorporates traditional Aboriginal healing methods. The model is designed to assist abused Aboriginal women in the Peterborough area.
