December 20, 2010

News

Peterborough Lakefield Community Police will soon have new equipment and technology to better protect the community.

With assistance from the Civil Remedies Grant Program, the Peterborough Lakefield Community Police will now have software and state-of-the-art electronics, including:

  • A night-vision camera
  • Video cameras, and
  • Internet-based GPS tracking system with audio.

These new tools will assist the Intelligence, Crime Analysis and Asset Forfeiture & Drug Investigations (ICAD) Unit to improve surveillance, collect intelligence and enhance the safety of officers during undercover operations.

This program enables money to be taken out of the hands of wrongdoers and used to assist victims and police services to help keep Ontario families and communities safe.
