A new major Toronto West courthouse will be built to better serve the west end of the city by increasing the capacity of the city's justice services. Here's what people are saying:
"With this courthouse our government is making lasting investments that will result not only in a modern facility for the west end, but will also create jobs and help build a better, stronger community here in Toronto West. Through infrastructure investments like these we are furnishing the building blocks of the future."
- Hon. George Smitherman, Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy & Infrastructure
"I am pleased that we have been able to work with the provincial government to ensure that a new Toronto West courthouse can be built on the site of the old Westwood Theatre in Etobicoke. This is a major infrastructure investment that will promote further revitalization of the remainder of the land in this area."
- Mayor David Miller, City of Toronto
"The province's investment in major infrastructure projects in Etobicoke, and their announcement today of a new provincial courthouse to be built on the Westwood Theatre lands, is a major component towards achieving the entire vision of a vibrant urban area with a focus on community benefits, amenities and greenspace."
- Toronto City Councillor Peter Milczyn, Etobicoke-Lakeshore
