New Judge Appointed To The Ontario Court Of Justice

The province has appointed a new judge to the Ontario Court of Justice, effective March 4, 2009. 

Justice John Stanley Skowronski was called to the Bar in 1986.  Since then, he has specialized in criminal law.  As an Assistant Crown Attorney in London since 1992, he prosecuted cases in the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice and was supervisor of the bail program for two years.  He has also served as a resource person for the N’Amerind Native Alternative Measures program. He has been a panellist for continuing legal education seminars on topics such as arson, and third party records and Crown obligations. 

As an active member of the community, he has been involved in fundraising for the Salvation Army and, for the last 14 years, has contributed to the fundraising efforts of the Royal Canadian Legion through participation in some of their most successful fundraising events.  Chief Justice Annemarie E. Bonkalo has assigned Justice Skowronski to preside in London.
