ATTORNEY GENERAL BRYANT TO CONDUCT LISTENING ROUNDTABLE IN ADVANCE OF PUBLIC INQUIRY CALL

TORONTO — On Monday, November 29, 2004, Attorney General Michael Bryant will hold a listening roundtable with Cornwall residents in advance of the announcement of a public inquiry into the events surrounding sexual abuse allegations.

Jim Brownell, MPP for Stormont-Dundas-Charlottenburgh is bringing together a group of interested individuals to participate in this discussion.

The purpose is to listen to local views on the public inquiry, including terms of reference, and to discuss the purpose and scope of public inquiries generally.

Members of the news media are invited to a brief photo opportunity at the beginning of the meeting and are invited to participate in an informal press conference following the meeting. The balance of the meeting is private so that all participants can speak openly. Here is the itinerary:
