TORONTO — On Monday morning, 13 households in Vaughan awoke to anti-Semitic graffiti on their homes, vehicles and property. The McGuinty government strongly condemns and deplores these virulent acts of anti-Semitism.

The Ontario government does not tolerate hate crimes, racial intolerance, or discrimination of any sort. It is Crown policy in Ontario that offences motivated by hate towards an identifiable group be prosecuted vigorously as no one should be subjected to such an indignity.

A team of 15 specially-trained Crown attorneys provides support to law enforcement, other Crown attorneys, and communities in the prosecution of hate crimes.

To the men and women who were the targets of these hate crimes, know that your government supports you and stands with you. As difficult as it must be, try to feel secure in the knowledge that perpetrators will be brought to justice and prosecuted vigorously to the full extent of the law.
