Attorney General Announces Appointments To The Ontario Court Of Justice

TORONTO - Attorney General Michael Bryant today announced the appointment of Margaret McSorley and Robert Rogerson as provincial judges to the Ontario Court of Justice.

"I am confident that these two accomplished individuals will contribute significantly to the administration of justice during their years on the bench," said Bryant.

After being called to the Bar in 1982, Madam Justice McSorley practised family law with Lerner and Associates in London for seven years before becoming regional director of education for the London Bar Admission Course. Most recently, she was senior counsel at the Family and Children's Services of St. Thomas and Elgin. Madam Justice McSorley was a board member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Thames Valley Addiction Assessment Referral Centre.

Mr. Justice Rogerson was called to the Bar in 1977 and practised family, criminal and civil law in Stratford for more than 25 years. He has also been a panel member of the Children's Lawyer for over 20 years and has worked as a part-time federal prosecutor. Mr. Justice Rogerson was a founding board member of Victim Services of Perth County and served as a member of the Child Abuse Review Team for the Children's Aid Society in Perth County.

Chief Justice Brian W. Lennox has assigned Madam Justice McSorley and Mr. Justice Rogerson to preside in Kitchener and Guelph, effective December 24, 2003.
