Searching for court files

Each court has jurisdiction over its own files. If you are searching for information about your court file, you can do so at the court of origin, and, for the prescribed fee, obtain a copy of a document. If you are searching for information about someone else's court file, you must conduct the search at the court of origin and you will have to pay a prescribed fee to view and copy documents in the court file. You will not be able to access someone else's court file or view documents if a statute or judicial order prohibits it.

Note that where a case has been disposed against all parties and the file has been sent to a retention centre, an additional fee will apply to retrieve the file from storage.
