Male survivors of sexual abuse can access a number of government services, including:

• A province-wide Victim Crisis Assistance and Referral Services (VCARS) network
• The Victim/Witness Assistance Program (VWAP), which is available in all court jurisdictions after a charge has been laid by the police
• Hospital-based domestic violence and sexual assault treatment centers
• The Victim Support Line, which provides referrals to community services and resources
• The Criminal Injuries Compensation Board that awards financial compensation to victims of violent crimes committed in Ontario.

Male survivors can also contact The Men’s Project, a non-profit charitable counselling agency that has been providing services to men and their families since 1997.

The Men’s Project provides individual and couples counselling, as well as specialized healing programs for men who have experienced sexual or physical abuse as children, anger management, emotional intelligence and fathering. All programs are open to straight, gay and bisexual men.
